What is the blind spot?
Controls
Explanation
The **blind spot** is an **area around the vehicle** that cannot be seen using the rearview mirrors. Although the mirrors allow you to observe what is happening behind and to the sides of the vehicle, there is always a space that remains out of their visual reach. This space is the blind spot, and it is important to take it into account because it can be dangerous if not properly monitored.

To avoid accidents, some vehicles are equipped with a **blind spot detector** that alerts the driver when there is another vehicle in that area. However, if this system is not available, it is advisable to turn your head and look through the window to ensure there is no other vehicle in the blind spot before performing maneuvers such as changing lanes.
