Zebra Stripes: Prohibited Circulation and Stopping

- **Zebra stripes** (areas with diagonal lines) mark **areas excluded from traffic** to channel and separate circulation.
- General rule: **you cannot drive or stop** on them.

Very specific exceptions:
- **Vehicles required to use the shoulder** (e.g., mopeds): may use it when the zebra stripe is part of that side area.
- **Priority vehicles in emergency service**: may enter it to ensure a quick response.
- **Other drivers**: can only **temporarily enter** it to **yield** to these emergency vehicles.

Reason: entering these areas increases risk and **impedes safety and traffic flow**.
