Lane reserved for certain vehicles (S-51a)

Sign **S-51a** indicates a **lane reserved exclusively** for one or more **specific types of vehicles**: for example, **buses, motorcycles, taxis, cycles**, etc.

- The **pictograms** of the vehicles that **are authorized** to use that lane appear on the sign itself.
- **Only** vehicles whose **symbols appear on the sign** may drive normally in that lane.
- All other vehicles **may not** use it to **stop, park, make a U-turn or overtake**.
- If the line that marks off the reserved lane is **broken**, other vehicles may only use it **occasionally** for some permitted manoeuvre (for example, changing lane in order to turn), and must always give **priority** to the authorized vehicles.
