Explanation
CERO environmental label: the least polluting
----------------------------------------------
The **CERO environmental label** is a **sky blue** sticker assigned to vehicles that **produce the lowest emissions**.
The following are entitled to this label:
- **Battery electric vehicles (BEV)**: they run only on electricity, with no combustion engine.
- **Range-extended electric vehicles (REEV)**: they are electric, but have a small petrol engine that is only used to **charge the battery**, not to drive the vehicle directly.
- **Hydrogen vehicles**:
- **Hydrogen internal combustion (HICEV)**.
- **Fuel cell**, which generate electricity from hydrogen.
In both cases, they **do not emit exhaust fumes**, only **water vapour**.
- **Plug-in hybrids (PHEV)**: they combine an electric motor and a combustion engine, and have an **electric-only range of at least 40 km**.
The main idea is that the **CERO label** identifies vehicles with **almost zero or very low emissions**, especially in urban traffic.
