If you break down on this road, how should you place the warning triangles?
Vehicle immobilizations
Explanation
Triangles on roads with lanes separated by a median
- In case of immobilization, triangles are placed on the **edge of the roadway** according to the type of road:
- **Two-way roads (without a median)**: **two triangles**, one in front and one behind, at **≥ 50 m** from the vehicle and **visible from ≥ 100 m**.
- Roads with **lanes separated by a median** (motorways/highways): only **one triangle behind**, at **≥ 50 m** and **visible from ≥ 100 m**.
- Reason: the traffic in the opposite direction travels on a different roadway, which is why there is no signaling in front.
- It is mandatory to carry **two triangles** and **at least one reflective vest**; put it on before getting out of the vehicle. Place the triangles without invading the lanes.
