What environmental labels exist?
Preventive and Efficient Driving – Observation and Fuel Saving
Explanation
Types of DGT environmental badges
The DGT classifies vehicles according to how much they **pollute**, assigning them an **environmental badge**. There are **four types**, ordered from **less to more polluting**:
- **CERO** 🔵 → Vehicles with **practically zero emissions** (electric, plug-in hybrids with long electric range, etc.).
- **ECO** 🟢🔵 → Vehicles with **low emissions** (non–plug-in hybrids, some gas-powered vehicles, etc.).
- **C** 🟢 → **More modern and less polluting combustion** vehicles (recent petrol and diesel vehicles that meet stricter Euro standards).
- **B** 🟡 → **Older and more polluting combustion** vehicles than C, although still within certain regulatory limits.
These badges are used to **regulate access** to certain areas and to apply **environmental measures** according to the vehicle’s emission level.
