Explanation
Coexistence zone S-47 and vehicle traffic
A **coexistence zone** is a traffic area designed **mainly for pedestrians**, where vehicles may pass, but under special rules:
- The **maximum speed** for vehicles is **20 km/h**.
- **Traffic is shared** between **vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians**.
- **Pedestrians have absolute priority** and may use **the entire carriageway**; therefore, **there are no marked pedestrian crossings**.
- **Cycles** and, where they exist, **PMVs (personal mobility vehicles)** may travel **in both directions**, unless a specific rule indicates otherwise.
- **Vehicles may only park** in **places expressly designated** by signs or road markings.
- **Games and sports are not allowed** in the traffic area.
The main idea is that vehicles must always adapt to the **pace and presence of pedestrians**, travelling **very slowly**, with **maximum caution** and respecting their **priority**.
