Is it permitted to park in a residential/play street area?
Signage: Vertical signs
Explanation
Parking in a residential and play street
The **S-28 Residential and play street sign** indicates an area where the carriageway is intended **mainly for pedestrians**. In these areas, special rules apply:
- The **maximum speed** for vehicles is **10 km/h**.
- Drivers must **always give way to pedestrians**.
- **Pedestrians may use the entire traffic area**, so **there are no marked pedestrian crossings**.
- **Cycles and, where applicable, PMVs (personal mobility vehicles)** may travel in **both directions**, unless the authority decides otherwise.
- **Games and sports are allowed** throughout the area.
As for **parking**, it **is allowed**, but **only** in **places expressly marked** by **traffic signs or road markings**. Outside these areas, **parking is not allowed**.
This sign is always accompanied by the **R-301 sign**, which limits the speed to **10 km/h**.
