The triangular sign indicates...
Signage: Vertical signs
Explanation
Sign P-19: Very slippery road surface
The triangular warning sign P-19 warns of a section with low grip. The vehicle can skid more easily, especially with rain, ice or oil on the carriageway.
How to act:
- Reduce your speed before reaching the section.
- Increase the safety distance.
- Avoid sudden acceleration, steering and braking; brake gently and in good time.
Why: as the coefficient of friction between tyre and asphalt decreases, the braking distance lengthens and the risk of loss of control increases. Therefore, a smoother, more anticipatory driving style is required.
