Where can this sign be found?
Signage: Vertical signs
Explanation
Advance direction panels for exits on motorways and dual carriageways
--------------------------------------------------------------------
These panels (**S-26a, S-26b and S-26c**) are used **only on motorways and dual carriageways** to indicate that a **nearby exit** is approaching.
- They show that the exit is at **about 300 m, 200 m and 100 m**, respectively.
- When the **exit is on the right**, the diagonals slope **downwards from right to left** and the signs are placed **on the right** of the carriageway.
- If the **exit is on the left**, the diagonals slope **downwards from left to right** and the signs are placed **on the left** of the carriageway.
Their function is to warn the driver in advance so that they can **change lane and prepare** to leave the road safely.
