May cycles ride on the sidewalk...
Traffic rules
Explanation
Circulation of cycles on the pavement
**Cycles** (bicycles) and **PMVs** such as **electric scooters** are vehicles that are **much faster** than a pedestrian.
To **avoid collisions** and protect those who are walking, the DGT establishes that:
- The **pavement is for pedestrians only**.
- You must **never** ride a bicycle or an electric scooter on the pavement.
In summary: **cycles and PMVs, always off the pavement; the pavement is exclusively for pedestrians**.
